ok so it seems i got the files, tried to install it and it seems i have a x64 bit system and needs a driver...... ugh is there anything else i can do???
microcat wont work on 64bit windows.. parrently you can get it to work but its a lot of faffing about i gave up

there was a thread a few weeks ago something like 'anyone want microcat', might have been by Rasheed, but it great information on setting it up. With a bit of messing I got it working on my 32 bit work laptop, XP pro. Didn't have the stomach to set up on my 64 bit Vista home machine but I believe it can be done using 32 bit emulator or some other fancy trick I don't have up my sleeve :(

Thread was by me, microcat was never designed to run on x64 systems only x32 systems.

I have the old EPC running on an old laptop with Win. Me., it won't run on XP even in compatability mode.
Anyway, bought Microcat on DVD with a crack and it's supposed to run on vitually all Windows systems. I just get a message asking for the dongle but the crack is supposed to sort that out but doesn't. Read a few posts on here regarding the issue and also trawled the web, to date I have not found a working fix.
At least the old EPC is working fine and the price of parts is very attractive !!!!

I have a copy of Microcat that's working OK on XP but I have to change the date to 12th April 2007 for it to work. On installation though, I had to replace a file C:\MCLRE\MG16.DLL with the file from the discs registration folder and then delete the MG16.DLL file from C:|Windows\System32. All OK after that.

tried that and here is what i get. in a pop up message while tring to install set up after i use the setup.exe

c:/desktop/landrover/setup.exe
the operating system denied access to the specified file.

Did the DLL file swap (Crack) and tried resetting the clock/date to no avail. Getting no other error messages other than the dongle missing one.
Maybe the crack supplied doesn't work. I will trawl the web to see if there is another to try.

yeah did that, the crack was implanted successfully as the dates on the 2 .dll files are different. i wonder is it down to the fact that im using windows 7??

I did post up another site other than green oval because i couldn't get their one to work either. the second one did work but will have to find it again as was a couple of years ago. Matt however has a more recent version which i haven't been able to try yet because the download keeps breaking up for some reason. either way though you need a 32 bit system.

edit: sorry. i found it, it was on digitalkaos but the link's dead.

Looked on digitalkaos for a fix..no joy.
The DVD I have is supposed to be the 2010 version. I will happily rip a copy off and send it to any software guru on here to see if they can come up with a fix...PM me with address details if you are interested.
My old EPC is running ok on the old laptop and I am not stuck.
The other laptop and mt desktop PC's are both running XP Home, not sure which version though regarding 32/64bit.

ok so installed it on the old laptop and went o load it and this comes up.

"Microcat couldnot locate the landrover cd rom in an drive plwase insert the landrover cd rom or mount network drive""
