HOw do I tell if I have the BMW engine?

Hi

We are off to Germany (and getting a new Tax Free Motor) and as a result we are selling the freelander, people keep asking if its the BMW engine?
Confused as I thought all the TD4 engines were the BMW?? If not how do I tell?

The TD4 is the BMW-based engine. The pre-TD4 diesel engine is the Rover engine.

alternatively start the engine and go make a cuppa tea - if the head has warped by the time you get back then, sadly, it ain't the Beemer engine ;-)

The head on me 'L' series diesesel hasn't warped yet, after 150k miles...Christ knows how many cups of tea that is.....
