Hi Chaps,

I had a lot of fun at the local tip with my Series 2a 109 yesterday - the 2050mm height limit is enforced by a solid iron girder that has a scaffold tube dangling 1cm below it. On the way in the tube rattled along the roof, but after unloading the suspension unloaded and I needed to let most of the air out of the tyres to get back out again :)

My wheels/tyres are 7.50 mud pluggers on 16 inch steel rims. What's the best way of losing an inch of height? Will steel disco wheels/tyres fit, and tend to have a smaller diameter?

Cheers

Gary

You could fit 205/16's on your rims but it'll mess up your gearing........most peeps want to do the opposite

ps.....It would drop you by about 1 1/2''

Get some cheap swb rims and tyres from that well known auction site for dump runs - will lower overall height by about what you are looking for

Cheers guys - new wheels and tyres it is then.

I go to the dump at least every three weeks, and it's pretty much all I'll be using the Landy for, so I'm not fussed about the gearing.

always carry twice as much as you plan on dumping then when you get there only unload half, then you will still fit continue this until your last ever trip, empty the remaining load and let the air out again ;)

call your local councillor and say that this is infringing your human rights, in that you are being denied essential services. start at parish or town council, then to disttrict , then county then if that fails get yourMP involved, make like hell for them.
do not be afraid to write letters.
