hi put my disco throu its test and had 3 pages of fails upppsssss lol, anyway all done apart from rear wheel bearings and not enough ride on hand break.

I have not got a clue how to adjust handbreak or grease up wheel bearings if any1 could give me step by step guild i would be very greatfull...

thanks

which disco td5 you cant you get assembly replaced ,tdi remove drive member and lock nuts and front bearing and then apply grease using a grease gun to reach the inner bearing, and then refit ensuring bearings are adjusted properly ,although if bearings are worn/ noisy you will have to remove brake caliper and hub assembly to replace them

you will need to replace wheel bearings then ,grease wont be enough ,do you know how to do it ,presumably hand brake cable and/or linkage on side of transfer box or expander in hand brake drum is seized/stiff ,cable would need replacing the others should free with a bit of penertraing fluid ,oil ,and some effort

as james has said, bearings will have to be replaced, if they are noisy they are worn so don't think you will get away with just grease, they have a nasty habit of failing big time so best to renew.

Where in Donny, send a pm if you don't want it public?

RCV will have the wheel bearings in, get a full set including all gaskets etc. Easy job and I'd help if you need .. or at least show you how to do it. Do you have a hub nut spanner? Jack, axle stands? I have if you haven't ..

I don't finish till 6 tonight, or am off work between 10am and 2pm (School caretaker) tomorrow.
