How do I get proof of build date for DVLA

I need to get proof of the build date for my series first registered 15/1/75
If I can prove it was built in 1974 I'll be tax exempt from April.
The DVLA say write to Land Rover but I doub they will still have the records.

I've paid the £6 to see what that comes back with, then I guess I need the heritage certificate £40 jobby for the DVLA.

£22 dating letter should do it.

They have a bit on there now that says,
"Please be advised that if you require proof of your vehicle’s age, the DVLA will now only accept a Heritage Certificate as minimum evidence."

Ah, missed that.

Got the reply back, built Nov 74
So now I'll order the Heritage certificate, and should be tax free Fromm April.
