How do I fix a droopy bonnett blanket?

The heat blanket under the bonnett of my 94 v8i Disco 1 is drooping down in the middle at the rear and rests on the fuel injector housing when the bonnett is down. There are no plastic studs in this part of the blanket, and I cannot see an easy way to fix this to the bonnett.

Any good ideas on how to fix this?

can you not drill extra fixing holes & fit more plastic fixings in the new holes?

Easy, I made a small hole in the blanket and stuck the head of a plastic bolt to the underside of the bonnet with grip fix and let it set.

Later, with the bolt sticking through the blanket I screwed on plastic washer with a small hole (washer was the same size as the existing plug heads) you could then use a plastic nut on top of the washer (I didn't) and trim of the excess of the bolt.

Did mine last summer and still ok

personally i just rip them off an throw them in the bin, seen too many of them catch fire when they droop onto summat hot so aint worth the hassle. they dont seem to do much anyway and not having 1 has never affected any of my cars

Ay, rip it off. One could argue that not having it can help lower engine temperature but with the size of the bonnet on Landies, doubt it'd make that much difference!

what's it for? mine is on the way out from being jet washed too many times.. but I wasn't sure what it did so was just planning to bin it when it got too bad.. presumably it is to do with either heat or noise or both is it?

yeah it cuts down on noise and prevents heat damage to the paint finish on the hood lid (I would imagine this wouldn't ever be an issue!) I think that's all it's for.

well my BONNET has heat damage already in two spots I think.. it's also losing all its paint from the edges so I don't think I need to worry about that. .and V8s sound great so not worried about noise.. might just rip it off next time I have it open rather than wait till it gets any worse...

Just found out that a new bonnet insulation blanket only costs A$155 (plus the cost of any clips you might break getting the old one off).

I think I'll replace mine rather than leave it 'naked'.
