How do the vent seals stay in, do these need glueing ? If so what glue to use. Thanks.

I used Bostic then closed the vents tight overnight. Stuck like buggery and still stuck 8 years later.

Im probably wrong but I though the 90/110 models used foam seals and the earlier series used rubber ones?
Defender ones fit to the flap and series ones to the bulkhead?

By mistake I bought the series ones too. Was your paint ok with the bostic Flossie? I decided to get the right ones. Got the rubber ones in reserve I suppose. Self adhesive ones take 10 seconds each to fit.

Yes paint is fine. I fitted the foam ones first and they were rubbish but it was too long ago to remember why! Must have been leaks of air and or water probably. Maybe they were in a blue bag and genuine are fine? Dunno...
But no issues with the rubber ones cept slight air ingress 8 yrs on.

The rubber ones seemed too thick, to me, for my my vent flaps. My new ones haven't been tested as the Landy hasn't moved yet since I fitted them. Good to know the bostic didn't affect your paint.

Mine used the rubber ones in the first pic. RTV sealant, then close flap on it to set overnight so it seats correctly.

I suspect when mine were done last the flaps weren't shut as the passenger one didn't sit right at all stopping the flap from fully closing.

Self adhesive neoprene section from ebay has worked well on the series stuck to the bulkhead and the 90 stuck to the vent flap, easy to fit and seem to seal well.
The rubber ones on the series were a nightmare and in the winter my bloody hands froze!

I bought the foam ones for my 300tdi and they were self adhesive.
Sealed really well and stopped the leak from the vent flaps.
