Dave have inherited the disco and need to get to work tomorrow am a girlie and need to use two hands to get the levers to move with the snow forecast should i leave it in low and hope for the best

It'll be difflock you need if the ground is snowy or icy, the lever should move easily, although if it hasn't been used for years it could be seized

saying that though, compared to a normal car the sheer weight of a disco - esp if it has some sort of AT's on the wheels will be enough for most snow.
But remeber 4 wheel drive is not a pancea for all driving conditions, you've still only got a couple of sq feet of tyre to sit on and even with all the enhancements" available on a modern disco if you loose grip you will struggle to get back in control.

Also avoid braking at all costs, unless yu absolutely have to. Once ya brake you just become like every other motor on the road and 4wd is no use to you at all if ya sliding. So read the road and leave massive gaps in front. and slow as possible without losing traction. or holding everyone up.
