Hi lynall, Hi Steve, thank you both for your support on this. I have been in contact with the ever helpful Frida at Turner Engineering...Frida even emailed pricing to me yesterday[!]. Had a good chat with her first thing this morning...she even talked through some logical diagnostics over the phone. So, I'm going for a full TurnerEng rebuild with gas flowed head. This will enable a number of things 1. for me to sleep at night. 2. it will add good value to the LR should I ever sell her knowing a I have new TE engine. 3. enable me to thoroughly clean/tidy up the engine bay. 4. will also have the turbo rebuilt at Turbo Dynamics as found oil in turbo hoses. 5. have the Bosch injection unit rebuilt for good measure :)

All the above is a little pricey but will give me a high quality engine base that will last many years. Off now to start stripping ancillaries. Engine will be back in circa' 5 weeks time. Will keep posted.

I’m envious now , mines taken 5 YEARS so far! Good luck if you get some time to take pics of the engine bay clean up look forward to seeing them

Hi Steve, don't be envious, I've got another project that's still to be finished and it's been off the road for four years + I moved house earlier this year and am in the middle of a garden project that must be finished...so logically, I need to seek help from others on this repair work. Frustratingly, there's never enough hours in the day and I want the Landy back on the road to use. Will post pics of engine bay refurb'.
