Hot Stuff

Hi all,

The top of my steering column shroud and the plastic to the left of the drivers side footwell are getting unusually hot, as much to say it feels like i have the heater on full. They dont get hot straight away, probably after about 5 miles or so.
Ive set the temp setting to "lo" but still these area's are quite hot to touch.
Is this the norm or should i be concerned?

it's not normal...it means there's some problem with the heater assembly's flap system which must block the warm air when it's setted on cold...unfortunately quite a fiddly job to check that ...check RAVE - Workshop manual - Heating and ventilation...cos it's not a simple at all

You must be right because passenger side is nice and cool & drivers side toasty, no matter what temperature i set it at.
