So, only noticed this for first time today.

Driving down the A1 and suddenly my left elbow feels very warm indeed. I then notice that warm air is being blown up from between the cubby box and the side of the seat. Now I know there aren't any hold there where the interior is exposed to the underside of the truck, so could this just be thermal convection with heart given off by the transfer box?

Seems a bit odd!

Cheers

If you have been driving a long way the gearbox tunnel can get very warm this weather. Not much you can do about it it's heat from the gearbox/transfer box

Yes, you get a lot of heat through the transmission tunnel and seat box area. It's all blowing back from the engine as a result of the air coming in through the grille, the fan and so on, and the transmission tunnel acts like a funnel. The inside of my cubby box is distinctly oven-like after a long run, which is good for keeping my chips warm. I think you may have a draft blowing up through the crack round the centre panel. They usually have a squashy sealing strip round them when new, but this comes off after a while.
