Hi..
Wonder if anyone can help me...
My horns won't work off the steering wheel switches....but they sound with the alarm no probs....fuses are ok....it had a clutch in it last year and I wonder if the mechanic disturbed something?? Any help appreciated

It's most likely to be the clock spring.
If it doesn't happen CC, then you can use the unused wires for that the activate the horn. ;)

Thanks for that....I'm no mechanic but I removed the clock wire and swapped the wires as you suggest and the horns now work. However the air bag light is on now:((
Can you tell me if the yellow two pin block connectors are the only wires for the air bag??

On the steering column behind the air bag is the spring which govern the radio station and volume and horn. As Nodge mentioned this can fail. Maybe a fath but if the airbag disturbed by the spring too, might be worth steering spring replacement all together.

Sounds like either you've disconnected the air bag wires, or all the wires the clock spring are beginning to fail.
The airbag wires and or plugs are yellow, to identify them from less important wires and plugs.
The cruise control wires will likely be unused, as very few automatics had CC, and manuals never had CC.

In frustration I left the larger 6 pin block unplugged from both sides of the coupler with just the two pin blocks plugged in (which i assume are the air bag wires)
and still air bag light....so yes i better try a new coupler
thanks

Unfortunately you'll have to source a good second hand clock spring, as they've been discontinued for a number of years now.
