Thanks for the advice. Had a look at the 'anything goes' section but not convinced I could get the answers I need there!
My FL1 has developed a problem with the horn. While driving home, the horn began to sound constantly until I disconnected the switch. The next time I started the car, the horn sounded again intermittently, with the switch still disconnected. Is this a problem with the horn itself or the wiring? Thanks in advance.

It won't be the horn - it doesn't have the capability to generate electricity.

I presume it, or a relay for it, is controlled by the CCU. Therefore either the CCU is being told to activate it or it has a faulty relay.

I'm not sure if or where the relay is, a look in Rave will tell you. If the CCU is activating it, my guess would be the circular track thingie on the steering column has issues which presumably needs the airbag and steering wheel removed to access it.

There's info on downloading Rave here...

As there's rulez about not posting questions for other makes/models - I presumed there was a rule that say you can only answer for Freelander :)

I'm sure it translates, but whether there's an online workshop manual for the Nissan Freelander I'm not sure ;)

Hoped I could get away with a generic 'electrics' question but didn't get away with it. Worth a try!

Many horn circuits are permanently live with a switch in earth side. Most likely short to earth or relay at fault but suggest you get cicuit diagram. Pm it to me if you want some fault finding clues!
