Seen this on flee bay, what were they thinking!!!

RANGE ROVER P38 4.0 SE AUTO V8 | eBay

I knew which advert you meant before clicking on the link.......maybe it was to cover up a dent or rather large scratch ...I would prefer the dent or scratch, or even a great big hole, there has to be NO other reason it looks NASTY......

Sorry if it does belong to someone else on this site ... but if it is - hey you must have been slightly drunk or out of you mind to think this would work..... I am so embarrassed for you...

Regards

Well that is the last time I show my P38 on here. I thought you'd like it, was at least expecting an offer. James loves driving it into the shops.

I have to say if it does really belong to someone on here, Sorry if we offended you. It looks like you have had some offers according to ebay and other member in this discussion, although I would beware of tyre kickers just coming round to laugh..and offer you insanely low prices for your ahem ! Pride and Joy......!

If you do want serious offers you might want to get out the old hair dryer and remove the flames. Wheels look good, but Personally when looking at a vehicle and seeing these stickers and add ons generally makes me think a boy racer has used and abused the vehicle. I then move on to the next. It may well be, that it is someone's pride and joy and been looked after and well loved, but the first impression is to think it belongs to someone out of his/her mind....Sorry but first impressions count when trying to sell something.

On a serious note though, as to mods and MOT's, how far does this go I mean what if you change the wheels, or stereo equipment? Or for an older vehicle that does not have an immobiliser/alarm and you have this added...so it doesn't get stolen, does that mean you fail the MOT because it is not standard for that vehicle?

Apologies and Regards again to the owners if thoust been offended...I hope that if you added these mods you had to have had a sense of humour and found at least some of the comments funny...

Regards

Stickers like this are usually done to hide something. No one on Gods earth can think it looks good. I loath to see Monster stickers on vehicles now though. These ijids are paying to advertise a fizzy beverage company.

I cannot comment on stickers too loudly though since in the rear window of my vehicle I have a London to Brighton Run 2010 sticker, EODC (Escort Owners and Drivers Club) and a Live for Speed sticker. But I only ever put stickers in places where they can be removed without damaging paint. On my old Escort I had them on various bits of plastic trim. Only one was on the paint work, but that was because the PO had tried to patch up some surface rust (give them their due they did a fantastic job) but used the wrong colour paint. Was only a small area so I used a sticker.

Stickers: The chequer plate of the road car world.

I know you say 'on a serious note' but are you seriously serious with this question? Are you a new driver/very young? In case the answer is yes to any of that, the answer is no, (with certain conditions on wheels).
In fact I feel a wah in my waters with this whole post but my shield will protect me. :p

Nah I'm not a new driver, and yeah it was a serious question.... I believe Nik the Geek and Wammers were discussing MOT failures for non standard equipment coming into effect in 2014 on page one of this discussion.

I don't think that asking for clarification of this NEW law makes me a New or young Driver... all it suggests is I hadn't heard about this new/recent change in the law from Brussels who want to make modified and most classic cars illegal under radical reforms that would effect millions of British drivers which includes changing wheels, body kits ect......if it comes into effect unless this is a different law - Millions of modified and classic cars could be banned from the roads as meddling European Union try to shake-up MOT rules | Mail Online

All I wanted was to clarify this point. This would put companies like Overfinch out of business along with the companies that modernise or make money revamping old classic cars.....and effectively make rust buckets safer and keep old classics on the road.

My apologies if this offends your waterworks...However, I would rather not comment on someone's water-work problems as I just think that's cruel.
