Ive just fitted a Weber carb and have found that both the vacumn hose and choke cable are too short so need to replace them, what do i need to take apart in order to replace the choke cable and keep the original control, i can't seem to gain access to it ?

Also what size vacumn hose should i use ? i take it rubber vacumn hose it fine to replace the copper pipe that was used previously

If the choke cable is too short you'll need a new one complete. Take off the shrouds under the steering wheel to access.
I presume by "vacuum" you mean the vacuum feed to the advance retard on the dizzy? These are usually plastic.

1. Not sure you can rebuild the choke cable to use the old handle end - the wire and the external bit are crimped into the mating parts. I've done things like that but I have a lathe and other power toys - a bit different. Just use the new cable and keep the old one.

2. Rubber line - I'm remembering 1/8 ID or thereabouts. Yoou need something that will stretch/grip properly over the nipple on the bottom of the carb. If your distributor has the threaded bit on the carb to attach the copper line directly you may need to use a cut-off end of the line (making sure to cut it clean so it is still open!) to tie in the rubber line. If it's the copper line that was terminated both ends with rubber connector pieces you can just slip the line on and go.

Advance vac tube for a mini works fine.
Funnily enough a mini choke cable was long enough for a weber too! Proper webcon kit should come with choke cable perfect length.
Its just a nut behind the main plastic knob that holds it in place.

Just ordered the pipe, cheers for that ! the kit came with a good cable length i just want to attach it to the original series 3 choke handle, works well and has the twist lock mentioned above, landy is at my folks a the minute so will have a better look again tomorrow, its basically just an issue of getting to the point where i can disconnect/connect the cable to the handle base as it seems blocked by the ignition lock

If you've got the steering lock it looks a bit more difficult - have a look in the additional parts book for an exploded diagram.
