Maybe not but thought I'd ask the question before undertaking the bearing change.

Hi
Bearing manufacturers, like FAG and SKF, offer what we call "ball pullers" in kits. SKF Maintenance and Lubrication Products
They work like this: The pullers screw onto a length of threaded bar. The end of the pullers are shaped like balls with the same diameter as those in the bearing that you want to remove, but two opposing sides of each ball is flattened. You need to pick, rip or drill out the bearing cage first. Then you insert the pullers with the flat faces facing the inner and outer races (this is the only way they'll go in) and twist them through 90 degrees. They are now locked between the inner and outer races. A strongback can now be fitted to the threaded bars and a small jack or a bolt can be used to pull the bearing. They work beautifully and we use them all the time at work. They are not available for the smallest of bearings though.

Good luck
