Mine has been on all the time when I put it in drive I’ve change the brake switch taken off cleaned and rebuilt the safety neutral switch readjusted it 20 times or more but still the same put a OB tester on it and it tells me I have a fault on the a circuit showing a fault number P0705 I think still drives okay so I am inclined to leave it changes for all the gears okay but just have the hill decent light permanently on when I’m in Drive not sure what to do next or where to look next don’t think it’s a problem with the gearbox obviously one of the sensors but don’t know where to look next

Also tried cleaning up both sides of the contacts on the neutral safety switch with electrical contact Layla and also the servo in the top of the gear change but still didn’t make any difference so it is the a circuit whatever that is would love to know if someone has experienced the same

The hill descent light comes on now and again although the descent control is not engaged
As its a manual (assume you haven't changes cars) the wire often comes away from the switch so could be shorting. You'll need to lift the rubber to see.

However, is it could be a warning lamp that there is a problem identified in the system. Not sure what possibilities there are for the HDC warning by itself.

There's a general list of possible problems here...

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/abs-light-sequence.155069/page-2

From that list it looks like...
Sticking throttle
Implausible gears (eg sensors say its in first and reverse.
Brake lamp relay fault
HDC failure only (what ever that means)

So, you can see what colour lamp is lit to see if its likely switch wires shorting, check the things suggested above - or the best solution is to the the ABS system codes read to see why the system is lighting the bulb - hopefully it stores codes if its intermittent.
