hill decent/interior lights?????????

i have a freelander 1.8 gs 2001 x reg. The problem i have is:

hill decent doesn't activate when you switch it on. The lights all light up and go out but when you switch it on no lights on dash?

interior lights work when you open doors but not when you switch the light/map light on.

anyone help

but is hill descent control actually working when you switch it on ?

Sounds like loose/disconnected wire, probably near the switch.

Take gear stick/gaiter apart, re-solder and away you go

before you start dismantling everything, you need to check if it's actually working and it's just the dash lamp that has failed, or whether it's failing to engage hill descent control.

yes done mine lest week ,one wire broke ,re-soldered and away togo.lloyd
