I have noticed quite a few threads relating to driving Freelanders(petrol&diesel) at speeds they were never designed for. They are basically workhorses, and when used as such will not give you many problems. A vehicle is designed for specific use. If you need to drive at 80/90 or more then a Range Rover would make more sense if you have to drive a Land Rover. The number of people who drive to the limit on motorways are sure to have problems, so why not get a fast car? and save a fortune.
