High pressure fuel pump

Hi. I have been having problems with my Disco 3 lowering on suspension and cutting out. After numerous visits to the garage I have now been told it needs a new high pressure fuel pump. I have been quoted £1000 for a now pump and fit. Is this about right? Seams very high to me.
Any help would be appreciated

Have u got a print out please or the fault codes , how have they determined this

If ur handy with spannering etc can talk u through a few tests that u can try urself

What year , engine size and is it an auto or manual plse, thks

Year is a 2007 tdv6 gs 2720cc manual.

If it's really about the pump a genuine LR it can be around £900 but there are OEM versions like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/landrove...252075605836?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10 or remanufactured with warranty https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuel-Inj...620530&hash=item4d803b5627:g:YIsAAOSwIJFb3FYo find a Peugeot specialist cos he might ask less than LR for fitting, IMO it can't be huge job cos my mechanic changed one to a friend in around 4 hours, tea break included

Hi

Not being pedantic, but Unfortunately there EU3 pumps so no good, as his is a 2007 so will need the EU4 pump , the later ones run at higher pressures , vin dependent of course if they crossed between the EU3/4 pumps

Do think before anything it needs to go into a diagnostic reader first

Thks for the info , so urs is an EU4 engine

Have a look on here https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/, there are some excellent mechanics there that do a lot of work on the members vehicles , do a thread and one of them may be near u

Plus ur know u won’t get ripped off, they can then have a good look for u and be 100% of what the error is without breaking the bank
