i got in the disco the other night after leaving it for about 2 hours to find the clutch was biting right at the very top of the pedal travel. i took i back to the garage where i had the clutch fitted a month ago they had a quick look and suggested bleeding it. the removed the cylinder from the gear box to make sure it wasn't leaking and then bled the clutch. got pedal just right for me ( about a half way through pedal travel) all was well till the following morning when i jumped in to go out the biting point was right at the top again. clutch engages and changes gears all fine. its not leaking any fluid that i can see levels spot on

anyone any ideas?

its a disco 1 300tdi manual

if it needed to be bled this would make the pedal bite very low not high and so it sounds like either a weak pressure plate or maybe a thrust bearing fault but it also could be just the way the new clutch is and as long as it does not slip or start to slip as soon as you touch the clutch pedal then i wouldnt worry too much
