Hi folks
My Freelander 2 has developed hiccups, it accelerates fine and ticks over ok but when cruising at gentle speeds its seems to be missing a beat at times and then it will clear for a while then return.
I had the MAF sensor. cleaned during its last service but it still does it.
any idea's please

It's probably worth getting an injector balance offset check carried out. This will tell you if an injector has a problem developing.

Maf cleaning only works for a short time, if a MAF is out of range then only solution is a new one.
thanks for that info, I shall order a new MAF today, also been told about flaps in the inlet manifold or maybe an injector going bad and to do a leak test, guess its a trip to the garage

The port deactivation flaps are easy to remove, it literally takes 5 minutes, once the intake manifold is off. I've recently done mine as part of the engine repair.

Injectors need a digital offset read done, as spill measuring isn't so useful on common rail systems.
