Hi.

I've loved Landrovers ever since I was a kid. In fact they probably cost me a good career, coz I was so busy drawing them in class I never got around to learning very much.

After 29years of riding m/bikes I've finally caught up with my childhood dreams and found a Landy to call my own. I've just got a 1997 300tdi Disco Arden. (not quite sure what the 'Arden' bit refers to though).

I'm taking my test on 20th November and then I'll be able to start learning to drive properly!

To quote Mike Myers from 'Cat in the hat' - I'm so excited...

Hi
There are hundreds of LRs in Sandbach. Mostly Freelanders (thousands of them) and a mix of Defenders, Discos and Series etc. Kinda cool really.
Insurance has been a real pain in the arse. I've got full ncb on bikes - I must of been doing something right on the roads all these years. Yet 99.9% of insurance companies (pause to spit) dont' take that road experience into account when assessing the risk. All except TESCOS who granted me full 65% ncb.

I'm a bit sick that I'm not covered for off-road though. I'll have to try one of the off-road centres that have they're own vehicles for hire. Unless you can get special one-day insurance packages for off-roading? I wanta get the Disco muddy later.

Its good to see that the Land Rover enthusiasts are so keen and up-for-it. I hadn't expected that when I started all this. The ultimate cult car (careful how I type that - l close to the n)!
