Right where do I begin. I have a Land Rover freelander, TDI 4 sports. I started having problems last sat. Basically went to put diesel in, and car would not start. RAC were called, after the car had been sat for about an hour it decided to start. Now I managed to drive to work, but on my way home both the orange engine lights came on, car was finding it very difficult to climb a slight incline, losing power. I took it into my local garage, they put it on a diagnostics and I was told that the reading(codes) were all over the place. Got charged £60. Not an issue. Now I rang another garage who deals with 4 wheel drives, he tells me he is 100% certain that this could be a catalic converter problem, if it is this. Also I shall mention that the past week when I have started the car, there has been smoke coming from exhaust and a strong smell of diesel. But no smoke when I am driving, just when I have started my car up. Is there anybody who could give me some advice as to what it may well be. Was told also could be fuel pump. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Wendy
