Newbie here, I am looking to buy my first land rover shortly, have £3k to spend and after a defender 90 swb.

I live in hampshire and i am female, I do a lot of off roading on motorcycles and have always wanted a Land Rover.

Hi Vigoration, just wanted to say Hi as you seem to be in the same boat as myself. I just bought a Defender 90 200TDI for 3k. Not been off road yet.

Sorry I can't help with the search for an LR. There are a few off-road club in your area, ShireLRC, SADLRC........but I would of course recommend SCOR

My best advice to you is to take your time and look at loads of vehicles. Peeps descriptions when selling leave a lot to be desired, a good example is the ad that BoB has posted. It won't have ABS or leather seats.

The best vehicle to go for is the one that appears to be the most standard and original. Steer clear of any highly modded vehicles and oceans of chequer plate, it could be hiding horrors.
Mileage should not be a concern provided it had regular oil changes and servicing.

You shouldn't have too much trouble with you budget either. Good luck and keep us posted.

You've also got the Surrey Lanes and Herts lanes not too far away for any laning trips so keep an eye out on these threads. It will be nice to have another lady along when you get yourself sorted. Oh and piccies too please.
