I find you guys after running around circles to locate a manual that would help me to rebuild this 2.5 TD engine. I always had a love affair with the british Jeep.
First I had an '89 RR Classic (gas Hog) and I traded it for a '72 Series 3 which is almost in pieces.First I just wanted to fix all the rust spots but it was like opening a can of worm. I was also embarrassed when I had to go up some hill and slowed everybody down behind me. I searched and read about engine conversions. I just bought a Diesel Turbo the 2.5L out of a 1992 Defender and I would like to rebuild it before swap it with my 2.25 petrol. The donor Defender was came from Europe and it is really hard to find anything on this engine here in the US.
Someone recommended Paddockparts.com but they might went out of business.:(
So now I have my new obsession finding all the parts for this engine. Thanks for reading all my bla-bla.
I should of find you guys before I made this purchase, now after i read all the bad stuff about this 19j I realize that i was taken for a ride. Somehow
I thought that I was buying a 200 tdi. After I scraped and washed a ton of oil off the engine and find the numbers on it realized that I made a mistake,again.F--k me.
I was just too gong how about getting this diesel engine for a good price but now I know that I over paid for way too much. i need to resell it and recover my money and find a 200tdi.
This engine is probably the later version of the 19j, the number is 19J31952C. What would be a fair price for this?

Paddock have not gone out of business,Google them!
As far as I know all the parts are available from Land Rover.
I would rebuild your engine as 2.5 n/a,excellent engine for a series.

Thanks Guys,
Turboman, your response made feel better a bit. There is light on the other side of this tunnel. Would you know where can I find a manual, part list to this engine?

HI, All, I've just joined, and am new to BC, as well. I'd just like to reassure you that Paddocks have not gone out of business. They're here: Paddock Spares - Land Rover, Range Rover Parts & Accessories - Discovery, Defender and Freelander . If you're ordering from them, delivery isn't too bad. I ordered a new front diff on a Monday morning, UK time, and I received it Friday lunchtime, Local time. Delivery was by UPS, which from UK to Canada seems to be a lot cheaper than the other direction. Register at Interparcel : Discount UK & International Parcel Delivery & Courier Services (free) for discounted shipping. It's cheaper than Paddock's, who also use UPS, amongst others.
