Hi, newbie from Dorset

Hi,

My name is James, and have just bought a disco 300 tdi, for a bit of light offroading ie green laning as I can only have one car and also need it for my mini family being my girlfriend, 2 year old boy & me.... for day to day use. So I managed to persuade my better half that this was a good idea. As I always wanted to do some 'light offroading'.

I would like to tag along with someone when I have serviced my disco and have sorted a few bits out, for some green laning as I dont want to go by myself cause I know I will get stuck, also to meet some peeps as none of my friends own a 4 by 4.

My disco, I want to add a snorkel when I can afford this. Also will trim the front bumber for clearance

Now, the one issue I have and dont know how to fix. The other side is a little light surface of rust. No problem I can sand back and paint up. But this side- how the hell do i tackle this. I mean wtf its rusted through??

welcome mate which part of dorset are you there is a few from dorset on ere , keep an eye open or look on the community page up on the top line for the s.l.u.t.s were a bunch of local peeps hwo ofter get out laneing around the area !!
now for for corroded wheel arch unfortuntly they all go there the only solution is to get a plate welded on top and under neath it will be a mot failure when its due as its classed as a structural mount for the rear seat belt

Do a search on here for the SLUTS. we're all based round Dorset & Somerset etc and go out regularly.

ahhhhhh, I wish i could weld. How much would that be roughly? Its funny it's due for a mot november. and you can see the yellow chalk mark up for a mot test yet they passed it last november. I live in the winton area..

yeah - but i think he wants to fix his, Pikey - not bin it

decent welder shouldn't charge yu more than £50 to sort it. If he does he's taking the ****. But I'm sure one of us on here can sort that for you. without having to take it to a garage.

I would really appreciate that. I would also do something in return ie beer tokens, transport some goods, wash car, paint your fence etc

I wll search for the sluts in Dorset. I look forward to meeting you lot and hopefully be able to contribute what I can to the community!
