Hi, I've just bought my first Landy - a tidy 1991 200Tdi defender. Having enjoyed getting out and about in the snow and generally getting to know my new purchase, my mind now turns to upkeep and general TLC.

I assume my engine is the 11L (it has the high mounted turbo) with LT77 gearbox. So having read around a bit, it seems parts may be becoming scarce. More specifically, manifold[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Monaco], power steering bracket and pump, radiator/intercooler assembly and pipework, air cleaner with bracket and hoses, oil cooler pipes and fuel filter housing. All of which are currently fine so far, but I wondered if I wanted to future proof and gain a stock of parts, which if any I should look out for before they completely disappear?

Your thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers

First of all welcome to the madhouse! :welcome2:

Can't see any problems with parts, as everything is still available for my 1990 110 2.5NA Fender!

Don't fret there not really parts that you need that often hence the low supply, although they will still be avalable, if not pipes and brackets can always be fabricated by one company or another

Thats great news! Thanks guys. And im looking up Driffield as i type!

How about security? My landy is pretty original so dont want to start drilling bodywork too much. Theres lots of stuff on here about alarms etc, but it seems a no nonsense, less intrusive option may be just to use physical barriers such as steering lock etc.

any suggestions appreciated, as im not sure i want to rely on the standard locks (im sure they are fine before kids found spoons!)
