I can put it into low and back to high ok but when going over to diff lock it is hard going and the same for coming out of diff lock. Is this normal (which i dont think is) and if it aint normal is there some where i can grease or lube up to get it going easier?

Quickest and dittiest way is to get underneath, roughly at drivers door, look up between the gear/transferbox and drivers side chassis rail where you will see the connecting levers, and spray the feck out of them with WD40/Plusgas/spray lube while haing someone move the levers ... then work the difflock regularly and often to keep it free.

Harder but more satisfying and better in long run is to remove centre console, rubber membrane and clear the gunk out from above and spray clean it al, again with WD/PG whatever, but this takes a fair bit of effort.

It's a 'normal' problem when the difflock hasn't been used for a while, so a good incentive to venture off-road where you might need, and use, it more .. ;)

i"d take it as a sign it has not having done a lot of work in diff lock any strange noises etc if not dont worry too much the more you use it the easier it will get do you have any history about it im not talking service more its working life as for greasing it not a lot you can do

As far as i no the diff lock aint been used for 5 years plus. And ive only just got the car going after its been stood for 7 months.
