Hi guys just wondered if anybody can shed any light on this.

Was out in a local quarry the other day when my diff lock needed to be engaged so as you do I engaged it only problem was the it somehow went into neutral ratio and the selector Clevis snapped.

After a lot of things being removed cubby box carpet tunnel etc I switch it into high with a screwdriver acting as a leaver got the bits I needed yesterday but now from lo to neutral to high works no bother going in but it's as stiff as a c*** trying to go back up to high I need to use a crowbar to get it in :)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

you will need to set linkage after first ensuring lever housing is clean and well lubed with one front wheel jacked up so you can turn front prop to allow selector teeth to align ,ensure linkage is set so it goes in to both equally

Does that mean that I have to remove the selector block of the top of the transfer box ?? As there is no other way I can see of lubing it ?

With mine, when going from L to H, I push gently on the lever and at the same time, I release the clutch ever so slightly, then it engages fully. When going from high to low, it always goes right in.

When changing between H and L and vice versa, are you first changing the T box to neutral, release the clutch, wiating a few seconds, engaging the clutch, then selecting L or H and a gear with the main box, then releasing the clutch.

It's this final release of the clutch that I'm referring to where I nudge the transfer selector in as I release the clutch.

the selector housing on t/box should be lubed from t/box oil splashing about ,theres a lever with a grub screw in that housing that can become loose which shows as excessive play on the outer lever

So I can take the housing right off ? Is the basic question I think and if I'm not engaging the clutch would that mean the transfer box wouldn't shove easily from high to low we're as it goes lo to high no bother ?

Cheers james
