with the car in neutral and the engine running, push the transfer lever as far forward as you can then put it into D release the brake slightly and go back to neutral and try to push the transfer lever the rest of the way if that makes sense.

or get the car moving (under 5mph) put it into neutral and try to move transfer lever while rolling

and if that doesn't work i will spray the linkages with brake cleaner and try freeing them off and if that doesn't work i will have a go at removing the gear lever suround and give it plenty of lubrication there and seeing if it will free off that way.

Did you do a search after your first post? :)

yeah there is a box that gives you the 70 most comon searches but there wasn't anything on there other than a home made diff locker unless i am not doing something right.

I assumed you had done a search and found the answer, because your own solution is on the right lines

That was good!
When I got mine I had to strip the console out from the top of the gear box and take the "little" lever mechanism apart to free it up

cheers for that i actualy had 3 great results whilst i was under the car lubeing everything and looking round underneeth i realised the car had already had a de catt pipe fitted i wondered why it was quick so thats another job sorted and money saved :D
