Hi all my name is nathan.
Im looking at buying at land rover 90 but im unsure of what age and engine would be best to go for.
It will mostly be used for towing bikes around, carrying tools for work and doing a little bit of offroad use.
Any advice will be great thanx.

Whatever you go for look long and hard at the chassis !! Be prepared to go underneath for a proper look see , if it's full of holes or had lots of plates weldel on beware !! Chassis is everything !!! Engine next !!!! Welcome

Hi thanx for all the advice.
Ive been offerd a series one 90 12months mot new tyres and the body work is pritty good
Ill find out the age and what engine it has tomorrow what are your thoughts about the price as he wants £1000 for it.
And ive never thought about a disco as ive always thought they were a bit big same as the range rover.

Look under. The outside will often look great.

Oh, and be suspicious of generously applied underseal that looks like it's been put on with a trowel. a) because it's probably providing most of the structural strength of the vehicle and b) you'll have to get it off to do the welding anyway.
My Defender spent its first six years at a power station near Swansea. It was nice and clean up above but underneath there was an awful lot of grey mud, caked on like cement. Ash and coal dust presumably.
