Hi all my name is Adrian in from South wales and am a proud (but losing the will to live at the moment with it) P38 4.6 V8 owner and have a problem with her. (Sound like I'm at an AA meeting lol she's a beauty when she running but when she ain't sues a nightmare. I'm currently having troubles with gears. HELP!

Welcome to the forum. You've done a 'introduce yourself' thing in the general chat section of the site. It's customary to do that before people start helping out.
Having said that, you'll need to be more specific about your gearbox problem

Hi and welcome, post the question in the rangerover section, with as much info as you can ie year engine auto or manual and the problems and the guys will help you out, what they dont know is not worth knowing good luck.

Ah no worries. I thought that was a nice little intro above. 😝 new to all this as well so would be great to get some guidance of someone in the know.
I've changed the motor in the back of the transfer box which has seemed to fixe the flashing selector panel and it now goes into hi and low perfectly but there seems to be a grinding from the transfer box really bad. Just wondered if anyone has encountered this before and could suggest a fix or an idea before I go replacing the whole transfer box. Thanks for the reply as well. Much apreciated

Assuming the transfer box has oil in it and you have correctly timed the tranfer box motor to the selector shaft etc, then I would suspect the chain. If the timing is wrong, maybe it's not fully selecting the gear.

I turned it all the way to high and selected it as high with navcom. Motor was set to high also but very grindy yes. Not too healthy sounding. I got a feeling the chain theory could be right as it does sound like it but transfer box job, is it a hard one? I have to axle stands and jacks.

Heavy, akward shape, but doesn't look too difficult, check the VCU while you are at it.
