hi guys help these brakes are mental

hi guys
me and a buddy are restoring a 110 pickup thats his and a landrover lightweight thats mine. we have started on the 110 but can,t get the shoes to stay on.its an f reg.looks like the adjusters are supposed to keep then on but we are not sure here is a pic of then would be gratfull for any help thanks

A quick look at RAVE should reveal that there should be a sprung pin, which goes through the back plate and then through the shoe, then twists to locate it. This is a common method used on many drum brake systems.

thanks for the reply but these brakes do not have that i know the ones you mean

They might not have been there when you opened them up, but according to the diagram in RAVE they should be there

The shoes locate on the adjuster peg that adjusts the shoes, the springs hold them on. The shoes are not the same so be sure to get them on right or they will not adjust. The space on the shoe with no material on is the leading edge if you know what I mean, check the gap where the adjuster pin fits through and you will se that the shoes are slightly different
