Boys I am indeed very fortunate in seeing her for sale as I just browsing as you do on a coffee break and was immediately attracted . I went down to see the old girl pretty much straight away and to be honest Graham the previous owner put me at immediate ease what with his knowledge and obvious meticulous nature. It's as much about the previous owner for me as anything. I took my nephew down with me who is Landy mad ( they have a Series 2a rescued from some Kenyan wilderness ) for some assurance .
I'm just learning all about her at the moment but she runs beautifully...Graham fitted a Fairey overdrive but as its on 6.5-16's it is still quite low geared so I think some 7.50 's wouldn't go amiss. I've been advised to stick to cross plies for some degree of ride compliance which i can understand.
I've already caught the Upgraditis I thought I'd cured myself from the Caterham but no...ebay seems to be bringing little bits and bobs ...
Can anyone recommend a tracker particularly suited to Landy's?? Seem loads on the market....anyone much experience of a good one?

This is its military history.
Would like to find out a bit more .
Cheers chaps.

Best security device on these is leave everything in neutral - main gear box, low / high ratio, overdrive. Your average tea leaf won’t be able to fathom out why it won’t move! If i5s not already fitted consider electronic distributor to replace the original with points!

I got this photo as well in my big box of past history which is quite interesting...it shows my old girl in the background with its military registration.

7.62...before we down graded to the 5.56...
Stunning Lightweight Neil, I had a project one in pieces for about three years before realising I would never get round to it so sold it to another nutter. Tyres wise do crossplies really help the ride? I would suggest Michelin XZLs in 7.50 to keep a military look.

Before we downgraded to plastic and forward assist! ;)

Well done, that is a find indeed - amazing condition! One of my mates got a lightweight when we were eighteen (late nineties) and we got into trouble more than once in it... very grateful we had no cameras on phones or facebook evidence back then!
