Hi I am Norman and so far I do not have a landrover yet as I am in the throws of looking for one. I am a bit confused to say the least as which way to turn. I started looking at a Freelander, bought the magazines but ended up re visiting the series adverts. I went and had a look at a couple of series 3 swb and they were really interesting new chassis etc but then I thought of the wife (she wont believe that) no power steering etc so had a re think. I went through the faults pages for the Freelander and there was so many problems that as a reliable form of transport which it would have to be it appeared to sadly lacking so were to from here:doh:. I ride a BMW gs every day to work so it will only get used at the weekends and holidays as I would like to get involved in a bit of of roading maybe here or on the continent. I have done a bit in Oz when we went to the Northern near Darwin in a big Toyota now that was realy off road.

So were do I go from here? any suggestions would be appreciated.

hi there mate ,,
glad to see you done your homework on the freelander !!
what about a discovery as a very useable everyday landy aswell as being very good off road , keep your eye open for the s.l.u.t.s !! we regularly organise days out green laneing if you want to put your new landy through its paces !!

There are lots of mid-90s Discoverys about at the moment and they are very modifiable as well. If you want to get into off-roading then there is less work in modding a Disco compared to a FreeLander.

Oh and welcome to the 'Zone :)

Welcome to LZ!
Ger a 90 - they are reliable as anything, go anywhere, have PAS for doris and are in a class of their own! By far the best buy you could make.
