Hi first thread on landyzone, thinking buying Freelander with turbo issues 2005 td4 sport,

hi all, seen td4 05, Freelander sport looks good owner says turbo as gone, would it be a good buy, vehicle not to far away, also seen turbo strip down and clean on YouTube, looks like something I could do my self, anyone know if these turbos just needs a good strip down and clean, or do they usually pack up , and need replacing.

If it's gone tends to be gone. Depends how far, if there's propeller blades in the valves forget about it, if it's chirping bolt in second hand or new unit if you can get good deal on the vehicle. Just remember to prime it with oil first or it won't last long.
