Just joined Landyzone tonight, and have a few Landrovers myself.
I used to work for Landrover dealers down in Hampshire and having been trained in Japanese products when I did my apprenticeship, just loed dealing with Landrovers, and still do.
I like the unsual vehicles, and own two armoured Rangerovers and a SVO converted high top Discovery 3OO TDI, which I believe is very rare.
Just been to see a friend of mine today who owns and runs an independant Landrover servicing and repair garage, and ended up putting a deposit down on a G WAC Rangerover needing work, but its got to be saved. I am currently awaititng someone from Landrover owner international who may come up to take pictures and do an article on my armoured Rangerovers.
I am trying to put my G4 back on the road after bein in storage for three years after I was taken ill, but its proving to be a trial and a half. Chassis very rusty, coolant pipe rotted through (the metal one) and pticed it up yesterday at £270 plus vat, yeh right.
The steering box is in continent, but I have a Adwest recon box to go on it. The brake pads friction material had parted company from the steel its bonded to, the discs are very rusty, and the fuel pump is screaming to its self even with plenty of fresh fuel in tank. All of this at only 31,000 miles, and it has already had a recon gearbox under warranty.
Being a full time carer for my disabled wife and disabled daughter money is non existant so if any one has any parts they want to swap, I am breaking a 1995 Rangerover soft dash.

:welcome: donation of parts???? We aint a charity here... and no offence but if money is non existant then sell a few landys :(

No chance of selling Landies, and I am not after any charity, I have stuff that can be swapped eg breaking a soft dash Rangerover 1995. Things must be different in your part of the country, we have a really friendly close comunity here.

You said donations not swaps in your first post. We have a close community on here anorl.

This almost sounds like that knob Ade or whatever he was called from about 12 months ago ... the one that was marrying his mother and had loads of non existent engines and things ... I smell a rat

welcome to the forum :high5:

If I had any spare bits you needed, I'd be happy for you to have them, wouldn't anyone?

but unfortunately I don't have any

some pictures of your armoured Rangies would be nice!
Tom

Thanks Tom
I will get that organised, the ex police one was sold to Devon and cornwall police who refurbed it but rolled it whe trying to J turn it on evaluation, judging by the amount of work they have done it must have cost them a fortune, the replaced the front screen which is 32 mm thick and it was damaged in the roll over. I priced one up and they quoted me approx £6,000. It has an escape hatch in the roof, gun racks in the back of the seats, and a central secure gun box for small arms weapons. The damage is not bad, just limited to the n/s and the roof. This was one of only ten 10 inch stretched armoured Rangerovers ordered by the MOD police for escorting atomic weapons convoys.
Thanks for the offer by the way Tom, very kind of you even though you dont have any parts.
I am still learning to load and re size pics on the computer so please be patient
