hi i have the srs light on the dash i have taken it to a specialist and they have replaced the srs ecu, it now talks to the diagnostic machine but there is still a problem. the garage said there is a open circuit on the driver airbag ecu, has anyone had this problem.

just remebered that when i bought the car the carpets were washed and they were wet could that have caused a problem.

Well you could always cure the problem caused by wet carpets by getting a pair of wellies or a defender

Alternatively you could post in the Gaylander forum!

The most likely cause is a failed rotary coupler below the steering wheel, but would need proper diagnosis to confirm.Dont be suprised if your garage are unwilling to work on it - lots of people are scared of SRS systems.

Mine lit up a while ago - turned out that the connection to the airbag had come adrift.

A simple undo of two torx bolts and a firm 'clip in' of the connector and all sorted.

Rotary coupler tends to make the SRS light illuminate now and again whereas constant illumination normally means a connection.

It may be worth unplugging the seat belt pretensioner leads (under front seats) as these may be damp if you suggest wet carpets etc. Dry and refit - use WD40 if necessary.

Regards,

Steve
