Hi All

I'm new to the Forum but had a 1990 90 defender for 7 years, rescued from a Farm, took a bit of TLC to get it MOT ready but all sorted, it stood for 3 years due to a job relocation but now back on putting it through another test, its developed a heavy clunk from the front axle when the clutch is released, suspect crown wheel and pinion gear but open to suggestion...Best Pete

Welcome. An early ish 90. Have you checked the front propshaft for movement. Could be the shaft or the hardy spicers. Takes a lot to wear the diff.
