Just a short "hi" and introduction. Live in Telford in the UK with my family. Recently bought a 1976 Series 3 SWB 88", with a V8 on an impulse for me and my 12 year old son to do up and to love. It was an impulse because I've never done this before and have no idea what I'm doing - but I'm having fun! Turns out if you could get an Xbox game to strip and restore Landys, then my son would be more enthusiastic. Never mind. Joined the forum as I'm going to need a lot of help and advice from people who do know what their talking about rather than me guessing. Speak soon!

That's an interesting project. D'you think the V8 was in it from new, or has someone put it in later?

Welcome anyway.

Hi both. Thank you for your posts. Definitely running before I started stripping to body off. Actually, was running really well. I'm not sure if was the original engine - would be very surprised but not sure yet. Need to get more of the history if I can.

Welcome.... Don't worry it will pay back eventually, I recall watching my dad do so much mechanically which I am sure I showed no interest in... and yet all of the time just watching and passing spanners paid benefits hugely now I do similar with an old land rover. If you get stuck post it up, you are not far from my neck of the woods and fairly close to John Craddocks there.. Not sure if that's a blessing or not the way they have gone lately.

thanks for the reply. I'm sure he'll come round, probably as it starts to go back together and he wants a lift to his mates in it! Thanks for the offer. :)
