hi folks, just thought id sign up seeing as iv got my first LR.
Iv just acquired a 96 Disco 300TDI thats a bit tired at the moment. My father in law bought it for spares as the sills are shot but most of the rest (apart from the OSR tie bar mount/chassis) is in ok condition. Im a diesel engineer to trade normally working on busses and trucks so im no stranger to a welder which will come in handy on this one.
My main goal is to get her roadworthy so attacking the sills and chassis are priority on the list so im off to the metal merchants this week so looks like ill have a couple of busy weekends ahead. :D

Hi JonnyT
Welcome. fairly new here myself, good banter and help.
Good luck with the rebuid, We went carvanning around Oban last year, loved it.
Cheers

Nice one Jonny, I just my first Range Rover P38 got a few bits to do, but will need to get it fully diesel serviced first as it seems a bit slow when you slam down, to change gear, not much happens, whoops.
Anyway keep me posted on your progress.
good luck

Thanks for the welcome folks. Hopefully I'll enjoy my Disco,it's a bit slower than my other cars ;) but on the flip side the disco won't get stuck in the snow :D

When you get 8-10ft of snow from oct-april and you push with your bumber thats snow. We'll get 10 to 12 " at nite with wind and have drifts to 4' schools closed 2-3 days, cops tell'ya to stay home, now thats snow.

......... last job I had back in NZ was chipping ice out of a tractor tyre, at the foot of the Southern Alps, knee deep in snow, saying to myself, 'They aint paying me enough to do this!!'

I did have pics, but they got destroyed years ago in a minor household flood (I still do hold the scars tho!)

I then moved to Oz! :D

Our street in this winter.
