Hi All...from Mr New to P38s, and a bit Disgruntled!

Evening all, I've owned a few Classics in my time, and have finally had to succumb to a nice shiny 1999 DT P38, about 2 months ago! Last week, the suspension collapsed. Diagnosis... a new Compressor. All valves cleaned, a new Compressor later, and the EAS fault message reset, am on my comfortable way once more!
So, during the course of the week, about half a dozen times, she pumps herself up, in slow traffic, to maximum height. Sometimes she went back to normal, others, i had to stop and lower her myself.
Anyway, today, 45 miles from home, it collapsed again, with all lights on and no faster than 35mph warning on the dash.
That was a long and slow journey....so, tomorrow, hopefully, back to the garage to see what's what!
This and a key no 2 alignment issue still ongoing, means a slight baptism of fire into the world of P38's!
Plus the obligatory angry wife....!
Will post up the outcome when I know more.....Night, all....

If a new pump went that quickly it suggests a fair leak somewhere that they didn't spot first time round.

Evening all, turns out, the compressor was fine, there's no leaks, just the rear driver's side ride sensor ran amok, broke free of its mountings, and started giving all sorts of dodgy info to the ecu.... that said.... don't know what's going on, and shut down the system to the bumpstops. The man ( very nice man.... am I allowed to mention the repair garage??
I won't in case I'm contravening regs) hooked it up to the diagnostic machine, and says that the readings on the other rear sensor are about 50ticks higher than they should be , constantly, and indeed, it keeps pumping up to off road height....
When I get out and purvey however, the drivers' side is really high, and the passenger side not so. So, back in on Fri to change the other rear sensor.
I hope that will be the end of it, cos I'm running out of money I don't have!
He was also telling me that the ECU's have adaptive learning, and if I want it to drive faster and be more responsive, I should drive it like that! Interesting, cos for 2 years before me, am led to believe it was owned by an elderly gentleman......

Hi,.... So, have now had both rear ride height sensors replaced, and she is certainly running more level, although not totally equal, LH side to RH side! Should I expect totally equal?
The air suspension did its thing on the way home, of pumping itself up to off road height, but once on a flat road again, sorted herself out back to normal road height.
Weird, as I saw the clever diagnostics machine in action, all ride heights (actual) looked rather good compared to the target heights!, and the magic no faults page!
Very clever!
Please, has anyone got time to give me any info about whether she should drive level L & R at all times? Cos am not sure what to expect, this being my first EAS vehicle!
Thanx.

save time money, put the beast on coil springs, rides just as good with reliability of coils, tryed tested on many cars since god,i dont regret it for a moment,

you will loose a bit of ride quality on springs but you will save yourself some major headaches binning the eas.

oh and :welcome2:
