evening!
after browsing for a while then joining last month i have just bought my first 4x4. defender 90.. 1988 with a 200 tdi conversion.
its not the prettiest out there but its certainly not the worst either, i decided to get a cheaper one and do bits as i go along rather than spend a fortune on something that looks better but could give me a load of problems and cost me even more money!

anyways, i got a friend to come with me and check it out and he says for its age its pretty straight and drives a lot better than ones he's drove in the past which is what i want, something that is mechanically sound but just needs some tlc.
gonna put some pics in so people can hopefully give me some advice on how to sort some bits of rust and point me in the right direction.

i will be using the vehicle mostly at weekends but not every weekend. i drive a van for work as I'm a plumber so it won't be my day to day vehicle.. my intended use for it is mostly green lanes with the occasional pay and play day chucked in. this doesn't mean i want it rough and ready but dont mind it for the time being

stuff i want to do..
sort the rusty bits,
some bigger off road tyres,
a snorkel
a winch

any feedback would be great, thanks
