Hey people hows things going?

Well I'll start this post by saying that I haven't got a landy yet but I'm really thinking about getting one as every one I knows thinks I should have one as they think a landy would suit me more than the car I have at the moment (Mk6 Escort). I'm starting to think the same as my friends and family, as Ive always liked the idea of getting a land rover since I was really young.

I've joined this forum because I want to find out as much as I can about landys before I buy one, I'm not plaining on buying one till I start my next course after I have finish the the degree I'm on.

I also need to find out stuff that can help me with owning a land rover as I have a condition called Muscular dystrophy Becker so that means I'm classed as being disabled...

Chat to you guys and girls soon....

Welcome to LandyZone, :welcome2:

Well you've come to the right place for Landy advice, we don't take ourselves to seriously on here either.

So what sort of Landy are you after?...................................................

Please say a Defender :D

Hello artyfarty and welcome.

Follow Medusa's advice for the most uncomfortable, leaky, scabby, frustrating vehicle on the planet.

Oh, I missed Fantastic, fun, tough, Fun, go anywhere, fun ....GO ON, YOU KNOW YOU WANT ONE!!!!

lol!

My plan is to get a Defender 90 or 110 and run it on LPG or with out even as my Escort 1.6 does about the same as a Defender lol!

An old mate had a Spanish 1977 Rang Rover that a V8 running on LPG lol! None of the fancy stuff work and it was one of the rushes things I've ever seen in my life lol!

Well hope to chat soon, more likely tonight lol!

Cheers for the welcome BTW!!

Arty,

I run mine on recycled chip oil (strained through muslin counts as recycled?) it gives more power, better starting - oh, and its free from work! - now thats economy!

aye it's alreet if ya can get it fer free!

if not its more expensive than doozil!

Chat up your local chippy, most sell theirs for around 25p litre, I lose around 10% when cleaning. If you need info on process (I have learned the lessons!!!) I will post up.

Does make running an old engine cheap. If you have a later engine, I have details of a unit for under £300 to convert to Bio Diesel

Oh, to be a student again, no thinking about it, no thanks

Seriously - tell em you were changing the lightbulb or fixing the wiring n you fell of the ladder n pulled down the plasterwork.......
They wont cover u for natural aging of the house but will for stupid DIY disasters - well most of them do anyway....
