2.25 petro; i turn the key but only one clic and then let go of the key and another click i checked the ig but still nothing do you recon it is the solonoids and do u recon a bumpstart will work.

well that swhat i thought but i tryed 2 batterys and that 1st one started the dumper 2cylinder diesel 1962 mind you my land rover dose have 2more cylinders though cheers sean i'l put it onto charge now

i've just changed out a starter solenoid as i was having the same problem, after charging the battery and attempting a jump start is still just "clicked".
if you jumper the two terminals on top of the solenoid you should turn the starter motor, which proves if your battery still works. i used a big screwdriver to jumper it but anything big enough so that it doesnt melt sound do.... dont use yer tounge!!
