Hey guys, new member to the forum but a long time lurker!

I think I've found my dream Defender that fits my specs (station wagon TD5, reasonable miles, good paintwork and interior) but I would really appreciate some help / advice before taking the plunge. Being a new graduate, this will be most of my savings to date and it's all a bit nerve wracking.

If you could have a look at my post here it would be hugely appreciated!

Ideally you need to take someone with you if you haven't owned a Defender before , we can't tell you anything from those 6 photos. Where abouts is it, someone on here might be nearby and be able to shoot over and take a look for you / with you?

You need to either have a bit of a clue of what you are looking at when you do see it in the flesh or take somebody with you as suggested.
I would wonder why the pics show shiny black gloop? And yet further in I can see dry rusty looking bits.
Be prepared to climb underneath it and have a good look, take a small metallic item and tap the chassis.
What paperwork has the guy got to go with? Numbers need to match.
I don’t understand the number that is stamped (in 1 of the pics).
It might be your dream but don’t jump in and make it your nightmare.
Sorry to dampen your fire but it happens so often. Don’t jump in if you are not happy there is plenty about.

Good luck in your search:)
Oh and welcome please comeback when you find your dream:)
