hevac p38 fault

I've had the open cheque book symbol on for a few weeks now the second ignition is turned on. I also noticed the compressor for a/c wasn't cutting in. I had the system recharged with gas although it wasn't that low 1000kg instead of 1380kg. But now compressor does work. But i still have open cheque book temperature control is good but no control over distribution. I live in worceshire any body know anywhere i can get the fault code read locally? before i start on the blend motors!

a trick i found somewhere when mine does t same, turn on t ignition, press t far left distribution button light comes on. turn off ign, give it a couple of seconds, turn ign on again turn up fan speed 2 full and press t windscreen demist vent, c does t air go 2 t screen, if so you know 4 t future if not try this again, something 2 do with ballast resistor, it worked 4 me when i had t distribution problem.

Your distribution prob sounds like a blend motor.
P38s known for this. The cog on the motor strips thus not turning the flaps.
Search the site. Has been covered many times and the only cure is to replace it. Not difficult but time consuming. Mine's gone but luckily it is stuck on demist setting.
I will leave mine till the summer when it is warmer to be outside stripping the bottom of the dash out.
