Can anyone help with understanding what diagnostics is reading when it reports faults?

I have a left blend motor "feedback" fault and distribution motor "feedback" fault. What exactly does feedback"mean? Is it not finding a reference voltage perhaps and where is it checking? Can anyone tell me what the expected voltages are, the reference voltage and output range? Does it test across the in and outs of the pots or across the slider, what is the correct output in order to spot if something is wrong? I am thinking of using a meter directly on the connector pins but I need to know what I am looking for. Incidentally, the motors are fine, pots have been replaced (thanks to Irishrover) and I have run the blend motors on the bench with no problem.

Hi again fellas.

Okay, lets simplify. I am down to diagnosing and trying to repair the head unit. Has anyone done this at all? I have a few specific questions:

Were all HEVAC head units the same or was there a change at some point in the life-cycle?

What is the default behaviour when a fault is detected, does it go in to some kind of safe mode?

Does anyone know what a "feedback" error is?

Does anyone have a circuit drawing of the Hevac, at least of the output pins on the connectors so I can test them for voltage (and if you can tell me the voltage to expect I'll kiss ya!).

Danke!
