As suggested, no AC and it's all come about since I swapped over the HEVAC controller.

I got heated seats with memory and all that jazz, but my HEVAC controller didn't have any buttons.

So I swapped them over. My new heated screen works, the heated seats work and the fan speed control is smooth and linear.

It didn't occur to me to test the AC over the past few weeks even though I should have noticed a problem with the heat being well above what I set on the dial. The heaters are too warm, which should also have suggested the AC isn't blowing any cold.

Now I know the AC worked just a few weeks back (before I dd the swap) as I do test it every few weeks even in winter. There's nothing to suggest any leaks at the (2yr old) condenser or anywhere else in the system.

That only leaves the HEVAC controller being the wrong flavour, but for the life of me I can't remember the nature of the problem or the workaround to get it working.

I can quite easily bypass the wiring to the clutch by popping on a jumper wire to test if it is working (I am pretty certain it is) but I need to know if I can get it working using this controller or do I need to swap for another that "will" work??

Thanks all.

Ummm, turns out the problem is me!

I forgot when I cut up the centre switch console, I removed the clock and the interior ambient temperature sensor.....

Tomorrow, I'll mostly be sitting in the car with a glue gun and a bag over my head so no-one see's how embarrassed I am at my own incompetence :p:D

I figured I should fess up to help someone else in a similar predicament. I'm sure these things must fail along the lines too and give similar issues.

I'll take some snaps tomorrow, but in the meantime...this is it so far. You may also note the grey door card & beige glove box lid, I'm on it. There was some touch ups needed, but they're ready now so will go on soon enough.

Oh dear what a bloody mess.

Crumbs, don't go sugar coating it Wammers :p

It isn't finished yet, hence wires here & there and different coloured bits. My neck is giving me so much gyp right now and it's going along my shoulder (where the muscle was ripped off) and down my left arm into my hand. My hand is so painful just now I have very poor grip so trying to do the door cards & whatnot is kinda nippy. Bit upset because I got my new steering wheel and want to get it on too....

She's a beaut, no?? Wife got me this. I think she see's I'm a bit "sad" or something so tries to cheer me up. Have to say, she's doing pretty well. :)

Sorry, that's just what I don't need, all that distracting light at night.

It's actually less distracting than the SONY I took out. Not half as bright when in radio or USB mode and the sat nav is utterly brilliant!!

It's some bloke doing the chat and he's soooo cool there is practically ice cubes dropping out of the speakers :D All 3D looking like some computerised film.

Anyway, it is superbly simple to operate and you can have the radio playing while in sat nav mode, with the radio muting when the cool dude speaks. All very intuitive even for a twonk like me.

My son loves it as I can use my phone as a mobile hotspot and he can watch Netflix on the headrest screens.

Everyone's happy :)

That's coz it is bruh :D (my son says that )

Planning some walnut to go round it to box it in. Lined with some black material (unsure what just yet) and a lid to cover it all up so the tea leaves don't get any ideas.

My mate Paul is an epic carpenter so he's doing the finishing. I removed the walnut surround (didn't want to cut it as they are about 95 quid ) so he will make something bespoke to harmonise the new stereo into the interior.

However, it really is something to behold! What a piece of kit. Wife can google shit while we're on the move and find somewhere to eat for instance. Then click google maps and we get guided there without having to hold her phone and waste the battery using it as a sat nav. I know that sounds lame, but that's just one of the useful things it does.

I'm thinking of TPMS. Proper ones that go inside the wheel. And I can get a DAB dongle so I can choose between hundreds of digital radio stations. It has a reversing camera which is helpful in tight spots. It has bluetooth so you can do hands free. It has GPS so you can switch to big screen speed, altitude, compass and all that jazz.

I have to admit to being very taken in by it

I went to put mine in last week, I didn't like the way it sat in the hole it just didn't look right, so I didn't do it

It took me ages to do mine. What I did was remove one of the switch blanks, cut off the end, cut the new USB cover and combine the two like some Mad Max Vs Terminator device then trim it a little to look a bit more at home.
